Full Description
Johnson County Public Works is hiring two Assistant Land Surveyor's. Frist review of applications will be April 16th at 4:00 PM. Responsibilities include:
Performs routine surveys by researching government records; performs topographic, construction, right of way, and as built surveys; performs differential and trigonometric leveling; keeps detailed field notes and sketches; locates and records existing monuments; operates and maintains survey instruments, including calibration testing and regular maintenance; maintains supply inventories.
Performs routine research related to real property ownership, including right of way dedications, property title, rail road, utility plans, prior surveys, court records and reports; performs routine plat and survey review.
Executes the processing of field surveys and prepares 3D design/ CAD software for design; performs routine quality control checks on survey files, makes adjustments, reviews and files digital data, field notes, and sketches
High School Diploma or equivalent, two (2) years of Public Works field work, land and construction surveying, or relevant experience, and a valid KS/MO driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
Associates Degree in Surveying, Engineering, or relevant field preferred.
Education may be substituted for experience and experience may be substituted for degree.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation.
