As a member of our Hot Runner Sales Support Team, you will be working in close collaboration with Molding and Mold Making Customers, Project Engineers and Sales in order to define the best technical solution for our Customer’s application to maximize their return on investment. The Application Engineer is responsible for the detailed technical review of higher risk applications for Hot Runner projects during pre-sale opportunity development and post-sale product specification development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for technical reviews of Hot Runner applications including approval
• Support Sales Team with the understanding of technical requirements vs. product capabilities
• Coordinate product customizations in order to achieve application specific requirements
• Define technical solutions that achieve the application specific requirements, minimize risk and maximize the customers return on investment
• Coordinate simulations, resin tests and design reviews (as needed)
• Estimate cost and determine sell price of complex solutions
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of application guidelines, process and the Sales Support Team
• Support sales by providing technical presentations or participating in technical discussions with Customers
• Participate in prototype tests, troubleshooting or startup at customer
• Provide application expertise for service issue resolution and new product development

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in mechanical and/or plastic or polymer engineering or combination of mechanical and plastics processing experience
• 2+ years’ of experience in similar industry
• Proven ability to analyze and to solve complex technical problems
• Good organizational, communication and presentation skills
• Some experience in hot runner systems will be an advantage
• Ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge in the injection molding fields such as processing, mold making, materials and part design
