NIST works with industry and science to advance innovation and improve quality of life. We’re looking for an Administrative Officer to join our team!

Responsibilities

The incumbent will serve as an Administrative Officer for the Physical Measurement Laboratory (PML) and will perform a wide range of responsibilities to include: administering the budget, financial management, human resources, and other general administrative activities consistent with programmatic objectives and NIST policies. The incumbent is also expected to provide guidance, advice, and information on these matters to management and other organizations. General administrative activities include, but are not limited to, procurement acquisitions, assistance awards, bankcard activities, NIST Associate processing, travel management, and property management.

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    FOR ZA-II:

    Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level (ZA-I at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting and preparing documentation in support of human resource, financial management, and acquisitions.

    OR

    Master's or equivalent graduate degree

    OR

    2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

    OR

    LL.B. or J.D., if related

    OR

    Equivalent combination of education and experience.

    FOR ZA-III:

    Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level (ZA-II at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience independently performing budget planning, financial management, and general administration to include human resources functions.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
