Job description
The WMS Implementation and Improvement Lead is responsible for implementing warehouse management systems and processes across our Eddie Stobart distribution centres.
We’re looking for a WMS Implementation lead to come and help simplify and define our systems and processes to drive performance improvements and efficiencies.
The successful candidate will have experience across warehouse operations and WMS systems, along with exposure to project management. You’ll have previously delivered projects either within warehouse operations or IT implementations and be able to provide evidence of cost saving initiatives.
Key accountabilities/responsibilities
- Gain a thorough understanding of the WMS solution and how it can best add value to ESL operations and Clients
- Creation of mini project plans and getting sign off across customer, operations, IT infrastructure and leadership stakeholders to carry out efficiency initiatives
- Performing operational and system audits with the stakeholders to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and sell standard ways of working including Data quality, operational processes and management tools
- Work with like-minded teams to research, sell and implement Quality systems such as Lean
- Manage the implementation of agreed changes and enhancements to both operations and systems
- Actively support operations during transitional support before handing over to service management
- Quantify and Analyse financial, safety and client benefits to justify the continuous Improvement cycle
