Together Soil to Sustenance VISTA
The Together Soil to Sustenance VISTA serves with a collaborative and coalition based organization committed to innovative approaches to food access through inclusive community programs. The VISTA will serve with the nonprofit Together and a growing group of organizations across the public, private and nonprofit sector committed to measurable education based programs educating those experiencing food insecurity in areas of nutrition and wellness, cooking and gardening. The VISTA will capacity build the collaborations to increase the community networking and partner involvement, increase resident engagement to involve the communities being served at each step of program process. The VISTA will also serve to expand and improve measurements and establish long term sustainable strategies to education programs.
Member Duties : The Together Soil to Sustenance VISTA will serve in a capacity building role with a growing coalition of organizations across the public, private and nonprofit sector committed to innovative and measurable efforts to end hunger through inclusive community education programs. The VISTA will serve to bring organizations together under the guiding principles that food is a human right and that hunger needs to be addressed through sustainable community partnerships. The VISTA will conduct focus groups and listening sessions to bring the community being served into program development and to significantly impact resident and community engagement with program development and execution. The VISTA will also oversee that cooking, nutrition, wellness and gardening education programs are measured with reliable measuring tools, are responsive to community needs, and sustainable.
