RESPONSIBILITIES
:


Work is performed under the supervision of the Division Commander where assigned. Prepares and checks forms, records, reports, applications and other materials for accuracy, completeness and conformity with established procedures. Makes routine follow-ups to secure required additional information. Enters data from forms, charts, manuscripts, questionnaires, orders, certificates, affidavits, subpoenas and other material from rough drafts, marginal notes or verbal instructions. Maintains files where discretion is involved in assigning items to their proper place. Maintains inventories and mailing lists. Assists the public with inquires related to agency services. Operates standard office equipment; enters and retrieves information through a computer. Answers the telephone, relays and dispatches messages as required. Performs other related tasks as necessary.


HOURS OF DUTIES
: 11:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
:


  • General knowledge of standard office procedures, practice, equipment and clerical techniques.
  • General knowledge of business, English, arithmetic and spelling.
  • General knowledge of agency programs and policies.
  • Ability to type accurately at 30 wpm, use computers, file alphabetically and mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
  • Ability to understand and follow and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information. Ability to sit for long periods of time.


REQUIREMENTS
:


Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation form high school, supplemented by a course in typing or computer data entry as well as some clerical and data entry experience. Performs responsible clerical work and data entry as related work may require.


May have to acquire and maintain certification from the State Bureau of Investigations, Division of Criminal Information (DCI).
