Job Summary:

The Cirrus Experimental team is tasked with the development of new components and technologies intended for evaluation on next generation aircraft. The primary responsibility of the Experimental Assembly Technician will be to assemble and install parts and systems as well as fabricate components using varied processes and methods. This role requires constant learning of new methods and the application of new industry technologies. The individual must be self-motivated, have a high degree of integrity, strong verbal skills, and be comfortable working with a highly diverse cross functional team.

Essential Duties:

  • Possess a broad skillset used to assemble precision aircraft parts
  • Able to assemble to print and verify accuracy using precision measuring instruments
  • Work from mental concepts, verbal instructions, hand-sketches, or blueprints
  • Possess strong creative mind and extreme attention to detail
  • Envision the full process of the build – layout through installation
  • Safely use hand and power tools - drill press, sanders, grinders
  • Use a variety of manual and pneumatic riveting equipment: squeezes, guns, and bucking bars
  • Collaborate with a wide audience to develop technologies and designs
  • Possess a solid understanding of general airplane architecture including airframe, powerplant, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Hold a general understanding of metal fabrication and composites
  • This position may be tasked with leading a small diverse group of technicians

Education and/or Experience

3-5 years of combined schooling and industry experience. Aerospace, manufacturing, industrial or Machine Technology degrees preferred.

Certificates or Licensures:

No licenses are required for this position. Other industry certificates considered a plus including Airframe & Powerplant certificate or ASE Automotive

Computer Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a must. Knowledge of CAD software (PTC Creo) is preferred.
