Full Description

Purpose:

The Document Processor is responsible for processing and funding in-house and indirect consumer loans, in addition to home equity loans, in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures. Acts as a resource to the processing team while maintaining Credit Union production expectations. Handles recurring department tasks, research and resolve discrepancies related to centralized lending applications.

Essential Duties:

  • Consistently meets or exceeds productions standards as outlined by management.
  • Carry out approved procedures and processes for the Centralized Lending Department. Recommend procedural changes to increase efficiency.
  • Verify accuracy of loan documentation prior to funding. Work closely with branch and contact center staff, as well as dealerships to make any necessary corrections.
  • Prepare designated loan documentation according to the policies and procedures of the Credit Union.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all loan types and procedures. Utilizes available resources efficiently.
  • Promptly handle any payoff requests.
  • Manually process skip pays, due date changes, and loan corrections or modifications.
  • Assist in the training of new Document Processors.
  • Monitor queues to help determine processing priorities.

  • Respond to questions from other departments regarding loan applications and CLD procedures; use judgement to determine if inquiries require escalation.
  • Prepare and/or review all assigned reports, complete side jobs and properly track utilizing department logs and spreadsheets.
  • Consistently meets accuracy standards as outlined by CLD Management.
  • Contribute to conversations and team meetings in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of and ensure compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures related to consumer loans.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and awareness of federal and state laws pertaining to area of responsibility.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of Credit Union products and services, including but not limited to; Debt Protection, MBP, GAP and CPI insurance products. Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: A minimum of one year of Home Equity loan experience is required.

Education: A high school education or GED
