New job Director of Nutrition Services in Arkansas | 2021

The Director of Nutrition Services is responsible for day to day operations of the school district’s child nutrition program. The Director of Nutrition Services will professionally oversee and administer the food service program in accordance with Opaa! procedures, client policies, and government regulations.

**Travel is required for the duration of a 2 week training period for all internal and external employees.**

Responsibilities include:

80% Hands-On Operations

• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with school district administration and staff

• Supervise the production and service of breakfast and lunch meals and special events

• Work in any and all areas of the kitchen and cafeteria

• Train, coach, and develop team members

• Purchase food and supplies, manage inventory, and maintain a monthly budget & P&L

• Maintain a safe work environment

20% Business Administration

• Recruit, hire, and retain high functioning kitchen teams with applicant tracking system software

• Utilize Point of Sale System to keep business records and analyze records to increase participation

• Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Qualified candidates must meet at least one of the following education and experience requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience with academic majors in the areas including food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education culinary arts, business or related field;
OR
High school diploma (or GED) and at least 3 years of relevant food service experience
