Overall Description:

The Community Engagement Coordinator will assist with the development and execution of marketing and public relations strategies to increase positive community relations, brand awareness, and a positive operating environment at the Atlas Point manufacturing location.

Key Duties:

Support the planning, coordination, implementation, execution, delivery and measurement of community engagement activities, in accordance with the strategic plan and vision. Influence program elements through experience, learning and feedback from community interactions.

Support the overall regional strategic objectives, as defined by the community engagement plan, through targeted, hands-on, grassroots community engagement.

Develop, create and execute a diverse set of in person (grassroots) events/meetings alongside targeted online and offline content to support positive reputational management, strategic messages and programs, as well as other activities as assigned.

Support the roll out of community engagement initiatives by preparing materials for in-person, digital and other marketing channels. Align key messages with stakeholder groups. Provide in person attendance and meeting support. Primary representative of Croda at community events, speaking on behalf of the company to share information and listen to concerns.

Develop and nurture important relationships with local community members to effectively deliver business strategic objectives for building positive relationships. Attend key events and meetings to represent Croda and share learnings from events to help further develop our strategic plans. Ensure relevant feedback is identified and shared for shaping and evolving future programs/initiatives.

Work closely with a broad range of internal and external contacts and influence them accordingly, often making decisions in the moment to address input and concerns raised in interactions. Represent Croda professionally and appropriately in role as primary community representative. Success in some projects may be heavily dependent on the input of others to deliver the project successfully.

Measure the effectiveness of activities, creating relevant reports as required.

Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

Experience required:

  • 1 - 3 years’ experience in public relations, marketing or government relations
  • Proven record of achieving objectives and goals
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability for creative thinking within market and technical environments
  • Content creation experience, including social media and other digital tools, preferred

Education / specialized training required:

  • BA or BS in related field (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentations
  • Must have written and oral proficiency in the English language
