Job Purpose

Within this position the employee works independently under limited supervision with administrative work as a business manager of Alamance County’s Department of Social Services. The successful candidate will be one that has the ability to plan and direct discal and business services with a solid background of purchasing knowledge and accounting practices and procedures. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Operations.


Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision of fiscal operations, purchasing, auxiliary enterprises and other managerial functions.
  • Coordinates the evaluation, selection and ordering of safety equipment.
  • Researches and resolves fiscal and procurement issues escalated by subordinate staff or referred by adminstration.
  • Participates in long and short term strategic goals and planning.
  • Interprets and or modifies policies and procedures to facilitate and esnure the applicaion of sound business practices.

Skills & Abilities
Education & Experience: Graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with a major in business, public, or hospital administration, and four years administrative experience involving participation in the planning and management of a business or governmental program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Computer Skills: Prior computer skills experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

License/Credentials: Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
