This position is required to perform routine crime prevention and detection police work in the Airport Terminal Building and on other areas of Airport property. On a daily basis this officer must meet incoming and outbound flights, monitor passenger activity including the activity at the passenger screening area and assist in checking baggage and passengers for weapons or other contraband. The officer will be required to enforce all Transportation Security Administration, Federal, State, City and Airport Rules and Regulations. The officer must be able to detain, question and arrest suspects and issue citations and tickets. The officer will assist in the management of security threats, bomb threats, fires, medical emergencies, and airfield emergencies, to include aircraft accidents and skyjackings. The officer will be required to maintain a variety of records and prepare incident reports. The officer must be able to operate modern office equipment and computers and be able to maintain personnel identification and vehicle identification programs. The officer will act as a liaison with other law enforcement agencies. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, run, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, and lift 50 lbs. The officer could be exposed to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical and electrical hazards. The successful applicant must have strong interpersonal skills.

Work Schedule: 40 hours/week + overtime, shifts vary
Salary: $22.42 per hour plus benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be a graduate of the Montana Law Enforcement Academy and must be POST certified by the Montana Board of Crime Control
- Two or more years of combined education and experience or equivalent in law enforcement
- Must have a current Montana driver’s license or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with city government and knowledge of police and security operations, city airport operations and the general aviation industry
