ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The Administrative Technician performs administrative and office support activities for the Building Development Division using independent applications and knowledge of standard office procedures. Duties as an Administrative Technician may include answering and screening telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, data entry, filing, scheduling routine meetings, producing, and electronically distributing correspondence, performing simple screening, and sorting of mail, acting as back up to other administrative positions, proofreading and preparing of variety of standard forms for routing and approval. Use of applicable Microsoft Office software, data entry and research capability, and communication skills are required.

Strong communication skills
- HS Diploma or GED
- Experience handling a multi-line phone system with heavy call volume
- Experience handling walk in customers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability to navigate computer systems and applications.
Must be able to work the core hours of 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. After the first 6 months the candidate will have the ability for some telework.
ENTRY SALARY RANGE:
$ 20.43 - $25.86 hourly

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 1 year of related experience.
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
