As the Supervisor of Policy, Procedures and Legislation, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the State Contracting Manual (SCM) by providing leadership and oversight of the state’s procurement policy, procedure, and legislation functions
  • Driving process improvement efforts and procedures within your unit to better track staff projects and increase productivity
  • Overseeing PD’s legislation functions by collaborating with DGS' Office of Legislative Affairs, Office of Legal Services, and leadership within PD
  • Tracking bills, legislative requests and mandatory reports, gathering data, and obtaining input from subject matter experts in order to address complex procurement/contracting bill analysis, legislative concepts and proposals

Desirable Skills:

  • Procurement or contracting experience and exposure
  • Ability to Supervise, lead, motivate, and track the work of staff by communicating unit goals and objectives
  • Strong work initiative
  • Project management
  • Experience in a Unionized environment
  • Ability to establish effective ongoing relationships with internal management and staff, and outside stakeholders
  • Ability to develop recommendations on revisions to statewide procurement policies, procedures, legislation
  • Excellent organizational, planning, written, and oral communication
