Position Summary

Performs routine public contact and ensures the safety of all the patrons that use the swimming pool facility. Works under the direct supervision of the pool manager and assistant manager.

Job Description

1. Monitors the use of the swimming pool; enforces safety rules and regulations.

2. Patrols the swimming pool and facility enforcing all rules and regulations.

3. Test swimmers for swimming skill level; passes swimmers for deep end use.

4. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties such as answering the phone, conducting classes, selling tickets, collecting fees, helping set up for classes and events, etc.

5. Maintains and completes records, reports and statistics for various aquatic programs.

6. Performs office duties as directed or required.

7. Performs maintenance and cleaning duties of the swimming pool in the water, on the deck, bathhouse and outside the facility area.

8. Administers first aid and rescue within the limits of their training.

9. Performs additional duties as needed or instructed.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually exposed to and works in outside weather conditions. The employee is continuously exposed to wet; cold and/or humid hot conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is moderately loud.


Job Requirements

At least 15 years old; Obtaining High School Education Diploma or G.E.D.

Certified in first aid and CPR; Red Cross certified in Life Guarding. This certification is not required to apply, but must be able to attend training and obtain this certification prior to starting in the position.
