Summary/General Description of Job:

Provides assistance to assigned job sites regarding various employee benefit plans.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Addresses questions from site HR Managers, HR contacts, and employees regarding benefit plans.
  • Ensure data is entered accurately and timely into carrier and vendor sites and others as required.
  • Coordinate with other Chugach Departments to ensure benefits deductions in Lawson are correct, and necessary corrections are completed in a timely manner.
  • Complete benefit pro-rations for new hires/terminations for assigned sites and create Collection Letters for benefits payments due.
  • Assists with completing Medical Support Orders.
  • Assembles and disseminates appropriate benefit information to employees and HR contacts.
  • Assists with annual open enrollment for health, disability, and life plans
  • Assists with special projects and assignments, as required.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience & Professional Association): Mandatory

  • High school graduate with one to two (1-2) years’ experience in Human Resources, including benefits administration experience.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, with ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner. Proficient interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in the use of common office machinery including copiers, fax machines, and computers.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle confidential information.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive team atmosphere with and the ability to work professionally with a variety of people and personalities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor and dress.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field.
