    Summary

    THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

    This National Guard position is for an SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR - Title 32, Position Description Number PDD0611000 and is part of the KY AASF, National Guard.


    Responsibilities

    As an SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR - Title 32, GS-2181-13, you will plan and implement flight training and instruction for rated pilots and instructor pilots in accordance with the Aircrew Training Manual (ATM). Adjust course material to meet individual needs. Train, instruct and evaluate pilots in operating aircraft using advanced instrument flight techniques. Instruct pilots in methods of instruction and evaluate instructor pilots proficiency to engage in flight instruction. Conduct training flights involving operating an aircraft through reference to instruments and use of automatic direction finding equipment. Perform flights in all weather/environmental conditions, day and night, and using night vision devices. Prepare and present related classroom instruction. Conduct refresher, mission and continuation training in utility and observer helicopters. Train pilots in basic and advanced techniques required to support the Pilot's unit mission. Conduct training flights involving a substantial degree of hazard. Performs other duties as assigned.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
    You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
    Wear of the military uniform.
    Position may require a pre-employment physical.
    May be subject to furlough actions.
    Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
    Must obtain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.
    Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.
    Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
    This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
    This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
    Must be Aircraft UH 60 Instructor Pilot qualified

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
    Must possess appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificate OR must have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
    Must have at least 36 months operating a specific main-frame military aircraft: Aircraft UH-60, mission planning, and mission preparation. Experience reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information. Experience in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experience in aircraft pre-flight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experience conducting/supervising training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
