Permit Technician

City of Whiteville

  • Salary Range: $31,596 - $46,684
  • Full-Time Position
  • Non-Exempt Position

The City of Whiteville is seeking to fill the position of Permit Technician. This position is responsible for the administrative and frontline building permitting, inspection, and related activities, to include file maintenance of related documents pertaining to the issuance of permits for building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and zoning, after verification of contractor information. This person must possess a valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, an Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field. Prefer previous experience with construction or development issues. Possession of a North Carolina Notary Public appointment or have ability to obtain the appointment within six (6) months of employment and must be able to complete the required Law and Administration course within one (1) year of employment
