- Supervise a team of staff
- Monitor, observe, and evaluate work performance of a team
- Provide individual and team feedback to subordinates
- Determine educational and training needs of staff
- Plan, schedule, and assign work of subordinates
- Recommend personnel actions such as promotions, awards, and disciplinary actions
- Manage tours of duty for a unit
- Approve and disapprove leave requests
- Provide technical and administrative direction to unit staff
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques for work measurement; task analysis and job structuring; productivity charting; determining staff to workload ratios (e.g., span of control); organization design; space planning; flow charting of work processes; graphing; and, calculation of means, modes, standard deviations, or similar statistical measures
- Prepare management reports
- Utilize an electronic database to document review results, data collection and reporting
- Audit database records for accuracy
- Conduct special studies and projects as directed or necessary
- Analyze large amounts of data from different sources to verify and trend data
- Investigate complaints and deficiencies by Veterans based on survey scoring
- Assist in fact-finding to resolve issues
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/25/2020.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below: You will be rated on the following
GS-07 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:- Managing and evaluating others work performance;

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: Duties are generally sedentary in nature but will require walking, occasional bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies. The incumbent uses the computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks. The employee is often required to talk for long periods of time.

Summary
The VHA Member Services Health Eligibility Center, Income Verification Division is authorized to verify income data with the IRS and Social Security Administration (SSA) for veterans whose eligibility for medical care is based on their income. The IVD has primary responsibility for implementing and operating national programs relating to financial assessments, income verification of Federal Tax Information, eligibility and enrollment, and revenue enhancement activities for health care benefits

The incumbent supervises a team of Program Support Assistants in the IVD. Duties include but are not limited to:
